Check out this fully built caged 1967 El Camino that might just be the cleanest one on the street!
True car enthusiasts take pride in building their own vehicles rather than buying them off the lot. They often showcase this by placing stickers on the back of their cars that indicate their car’s power came from hours of hard work in the garage, not just from purchasing it. In today’s video, you’ll meet Chris, who is just like those car enthusiasts, but without the stickers. That’s actually great because we love hearing stories about people who spend countless hours building their dream cars, and Chris’s 1967 El Camino is a perfect example of that.
What’s even cooler than the El Camino itself is the story behind it. Chris has owned this car for 22 years and it was the first car he ever purchased when he got his driver’s license. Of course, the car wasn’t anything like it is now when he first bought it. But as a 16-year-old boy, Chris had a desire for more power under the hood. Some people may not understand this urge, but car enthusiasts know that buying a more powerful car is not the answer. What they want is to make their current car perform better, and that requires a lot of time, effort, and money.
So Chris got to work and replaced the stock engine with a bigger one that provided more power. But he didn’t stop there. He wanted to take his car to the dragstrip, so he needed to upgrade the transmission to handle the added power. And once he tasted the dragstrip life, he realized he needed a roll cage to keep him safe. So he and his friend went back to the garage and got to work again.
But this isn’t the end of the story. Chris continued to modify his El Camino, making it even more powerful and impressive. And now, after all those years of hard work, he has one of the cleanest and most unique El Caminos on the street.
