Custom Classics That Will Leave You Speechless: The 1933 Renaissance Roadster and 1934 Tudor Sedan

Things in life have a peculiar way of happening. It’s been some time since we last visited the Hand Built Cars channel on YouTube to admire their impressive transformations of bare shells into beautiful vehicles. However, it was a pair of 1930s Ford projects that ultimately piqued our interest.

For those who are into classic cars and have a fondness for Hot Rods, they may already be familiar with the 1933 “Renaissance Roadster,” also known as the 1933 Ford. However, this vehicle did not originate from any Blue Oval assembly line. Instead, it was a completely custom build with a chassis and handmade body panels that took almost four years and around 20,000 man-hours to complete. When it was unveiled in 2017, the dual-tone PPG Violet Red and dark cherry/black paint job left everyone in awe. The car even won the prestigious 2017 Ridler Award.

Moving on to the 1934 Ford Tudor Sedan, it’s a big-block 427ci SOHC impersonator that boasts a more aggressive look due to the visible engine. However, this vehicle actually has a modern and reliable 5.0-liter Coyote V8 hidden under the 427 markings. The car’s Whipple supercharger is partly responsible for its impressive 500-hp power level.

Returning to the ’33 Ford, it features a big-block Chevy 427ci engine under its extra-long hood, which may not produce as many horses as one might expect. After watching both videos and considering that one project was built from scratch and the other from a bare shell, the question arises: should we choose just one or make space for both in our dream garage?
