A 496 Big Block Chevy Chevelle goes head-to-head with a Cadillac CTSV

In this drag racing video, a worn-out 1967 Chevy Chevelle with missing parts like the hood, interior, and back window glass challenges a sleek Cadillac CTSV. I must say, this old versus new showdown is one of the coolest drag racing videos I’ve seen recently.

Naturally, the newer Cadillac outperforms the Chevelle in almost every aspect, with its Supercharged V8 engine generating an impressive 650 horsepower and 700 foot-pounds of torque. In contrast, the ’67 Chevelle resembles something out of a horror film. In fact, if you were to look up the term “brute” in the dictionary, you might find a picture of this car.

The 1967 Chevelle, equipped with a naturally aspirated 454 Big Block Chevy engine that has been bored out to 496 cubic inches, arrives at the scene. Surprisingly, without any tuning or practice runs, the Chevelle manages to secure a victory. As the old-school car enthusiasts say, sometimes there is simply no substitute for sheer engine displacement.
